Santa Ana

Santa Ana is one of the most historically significant and architecturally rich neighborhoods in Panama, with a lasting influence on local culture and urban identity. In collaboration with the development company Conservatorio, we were commissioned to design five buildings that collectively form La Quince. Each intervention was conceived with a clear awareness of the social dynamics of the area and the challenges of gentrification. All buildings were placed on previously vacant lots to avoid displacing existing residents, and a substantial proportion of the units were designed to remain attainable to minimum-wage earners. Architecturally, the projects reinforce the character and scale of the neighborhood through careful articulation of façades, material selection, and the integration of contemporary elements that respect and reinterpret the historic urban fabric.
